This video is detailed “enough”, but it fails to mention names like : Michael Chekhov, Vakhtangov, Demidov, or people like M.Knebel etc. It also fails to understand many topics (especially how the system was delivered, how, when and into what, it progressed, and the difference between naturalism, realism, and form, as they were mentioned by Stanislavsky himself), even though he mentions the word “research” may times, most of the claims are a form of a diagonal reading, Wikipedia-que clues, and hearsay, to reach a conclusion we’ve managed to reach years ago and that is…ART IS OF ITS TIME.
BUT …He does an excellent job explaining what the method is and what it is not, he also does an excellent job (better than anyone I’ve seen) coining the term “going method” instead of doing the “method” and tracing it back (the “going method” part) to Stella Adler. I believe it is worth a summer watch and maybe a autumn discussion.
