The Void©: A new Research Approach to Acting through Synthesis and Exploration.

"HE WHO JUMPS INTO THE VOID OWES NO EXPLANATION TO
THOSE WHO STAND AND WATCH."

JEAN-LUC GODARD

Honoring the Masters, Forging New Paths

Our approach pays homage to the legacy of great masters while exploring new artistic frontiers. Drawing inspiration from:

  • The Meisner Technique: The “high school” for acting, fostering instinctive responsiveness and truthful interaction.
  • Michael Chekhov’s Vision: The “university” of acting that delves into higher artistic concepts and his visionary “theater of the future.”
  • Stanislavsky and the Russian School: Foundational training instilling discipline and psychophysical awareness.
  • Demidov’s Technique: The “PhD” of acting, unlocking the subconscious realm, the ultimate source of creative power.

The concept of Void© is both a philosophical and practical foundation for our work.

The Void©: A Philosophy and Practice

The Void© represents:

  • Freedom: To create, to be created, and to exist in uninhibited play.
  • Synthesis: Melding diverse methodologies into new possibilities.
  • Depth: A journey into the subconscious, echoing Demidov’s call to transcend conscious control.

Guided by Nikolai Demidov

Our work is deeply rooted in the teachings of Nikolai Demidov, whose revolutionary approach remains unparalleled.

His wisdom resonates with our mission:

“The author is far from asserting that everything told here would remain unchangeable forever and for all future times. There will be new knowledge, and, in its light, our present knowledge perhaps will seem ignorant.”

“Much of what has been found seems to the author to be true and in full accordance with science. However, this is no more than a stage – just the next stage. Further progress will find new facts, posit new hypotheses, and come up with new methodologies.”

And his philosophy guides every aspect of our work:

“[…] This is a very rewarding work, since the researchers have barely touched this realm of knowledge; anywhere you go, there are bound to be discoveries. Just approach it with a fresh mind, give it a little thought – and you will stumble onto a new invention.”

This pioneering spirit fuels The Void© Approach, making us not just practitioners of technique but explorers of creativity. Through investigating the “automatisms” and “involuntary” processes central to Demidov’s insights, we aim to deepen our understanding of the human condition and unlock the actor’s full potential.

By combining rigorous adherence to Demidov’s technique with an innovative, research-driven mindset, The Void© becomes a meeting point where tradition evolves into transformation. This is where the art of acting finds its future—a future guided by freedom, creativity, and the infinite possibilities of the human spirit.
